BAPTISMAL PROMISES

Do you believe in One God, the Holy One, Divine Mystery, Living Light, who is love, and through love, created all that has been or will ever be? Are you committed to answering God’s call  to love yourself, to love and serve others, and to care for all of creation?

Do you believe in Jesus the Christ, who was incarnated through divine love, born of the Blessed Mother Mary, embodied divine love, mercy and justice, and embraced suffering, death, and the resurrection? Are you committed to follow Jesus, our source of wisdom and truth, to be a channel of mercy and justice in the world?

Do you believe in the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete, Hagia Sophia, the Fire that is our innermost life? Are you committed to open your mind and heart to the Holy Spirit who sustains and enlivens us to act justly, to love tenderly, and to walk humbly on this fragile earth with our God? 

Do you believe in the Communion of Saints, the sanctity of the People of God, and a holy and inclusive community filled with divine presence stretched out all around us for those with eyes to see it, hearts to receive it, and hands to share it? Are you committed to turning away from all that keeps you from a right relationship with God, each other, and all of creation?

Revised Statement of Faith

We believe in Jesus the Christ, who was incarnated through divine love, born of the Blessed Mother Mary, embodied love, mercy and justice; embraced suffering, death, and the resurrection. Jesus is our source of wisdom and truth.
